The rugby club requires updating. Originally built in the early 1970’s the fabric is at the end of its useful life and the changing rooms are in need of bringing into the 21st century and enable women and juniors change. These feasibility studies sought to improve the facilities on an incremental basis that would meet funding availability and enable the club function whilst building work could progress. Amateur sport needs to be provided in a sustainable way and each proposal sought to address ways of attracting additional revenue and additional members.

Projects progressed with planning permissions

  • Floodlights on 2nd and 3rd team pitches
  • Car park extension
  • New changing room unit
  • External storage units
  • New entrance and shop

Projects progressed and completed:

  • Floodlights on 2nd and 3rd team pitches
  • Car park extension
  • Bar upgrade

The challenges:  it is always necessary to find low cost solutions to meet the availability of limited funding whilst achieving built forms that add value and places people want to visit.
